Deleting your Astra Style account and your data

Last updated: 31 July 2026

1. If you never made an account

Guest mode stores everything on your device and nothing on our servers — no account, no server-side identity, no uploaded files. To delete guest data, delete the app from your iPhone. There is nothing for us to delete and nothing for you to ask us for.

2. How to request deletion

Current status, stated plainly. The in-app "delete my account" screen is not built yet, and neither is the automated server routine that would carry the deletion out end to end. Until both ship, deletion is requested by email and performed by us. We would rather tell you that than show you a button that does not exist.

Email [[NEEDS INPUT: deletion request email address]] from the email address on your account, with the subject "Delete my account".

We will confirm that we have your request, verify that it came from the account holder, and tell you when it is done. [[NEEDS INPUT: identity verification method for a deletion request, particularly for Sign in with Apple users whose account email is a private relay address]]

[[NEEDS INPUT: the completion window we commit to — e.g. within 30 days of a verified request — and the interim status we give you]]

Cancel your subscription separately

Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel it in your Apple account settings before or after deletion, or Apple will keep billing you.

3. What deletion removes

Deleting your account removes your authentication identity. Every record in our database that belongs to you is linked to that identity and is removed with it:

RemovedWhat it contains
ProfileDisplay name, avatar, location name, time zone, preferences, subscription tier.
Style profileStyle goals and identities, colour preferences, fit and formality preferences, style summary, the preference-quiz vector, and the style embedding.
Body profileHeight, weight, chest, waist, inseam and neck measurements, sizes, fit notes, the derived frame characteristics, and the appearance details including any reference to your selfies.
Lifestyle profileOccupation, dress code, typical week, occasions, budget, brands, laundry and travel habits, attire needs, sustainability preference.
ClosetEvery garment record and every garment image record, with their attributes, purchase details, wear counts and embeddings.
OutfitsOutfits, their contents, and your entire wear history including ratings and written feedback.
KyraEvery conversation thread and every message in it.
Style memories and feedbackEvery inferred preference, with its embedding, and every like, dislike and reason you recorded. Style memories are hard-deleted by design — the schema has no "hidden but kept" state for them.
PlanningOccasions, including any calendar event identifiers, and daily briefs.
Style StudioEvery generation record, including the prompt payload and the paths of the reference and result images.
ShoppingEvery product evaluation we produced for you.
Subscription recordOur copy of your subscription state.
Authentication identityThe account itself.

Your images

Your photographs and generated images are files in private storage, not database rows, and deleting them is a separate operation from deleting the records that point at them. Deletion is designed to remove everything stored under your account's own storage path — the garment photos, the background-removed versions, the reference selfies and body images, and the Style Studio outputs — and then, as a second line of defence, to sweep any storage record left behind under that path.

The part that is not built yet. The database side of this is implemented: the request function, the audit record, the cascade, and the finalisation step that clears leftover storage records. What does not exist yet is the server function that runs the sequence end to end — including the call that deletes the image files themselves from storage and the call that deletes the authentication identity. Until it is built, those two steps are performed manually against your account when you email us. We are describing the process we operate, and flagging what is automated and what is not, rather than claiming a guarantee the software does not yet enforce.

4. What survives, and why

5. Deleting less than everything

Today, in the app, you can edit or correct your profile answers, and archive or edit closet items and outfits. Deleting individual reference images or individual generated images, and inspecting and deleting individual style memories, are designed but not yet available in the app. Until they ship, ask us by email and we will do it for you.

6. Getting a copy of your data first

Data export is not yet available as a self-service feature. If you want a copy of your data before deleting, ask before you send the deletion request — once deletion completes there is nothing left to export. [[NEEDS INPUT: export format and the turnaround time we commit to]]
